Little Yogini Zehya
She hasn't started teaching yoga yet, but she helps create a magical atmosphere wherever she is...

Siva Rising (Raakhi Mohan, MD MPH AHE)
One of my life goals is to learn and propagate cultural knowledge and traditions. Another is to work towards greater health, both in myself and in my interactions with others. In this vein, I chose to transition from medicine to community health and development in international public health. During my work and travels, I’ve been blessed with multifarious opportunities to learn about indigenous healing. In fact, my grandmother and uncle are ayurvedic healers, and as such I grew up with a holistic and balanced approach to health. Now that I've completed my professional studies in ayurveda and yoga, I have been incorporating my family's art into this learning. I've already begun to experience the benefits of this ancient wisdom in my own life, and look forward to sharing it with you.

Anna Bazalar

Anna began her study in gymnastics at the age of 8 and continued for 10 years.  She was introduced to yoga in 2001.  It wasn’t until a recent knee injury where she began to make yoga her main focus.  In her process of rehabilitation, she quickly fell in love with it's calming, balancing, and healing benefits. In addition, she was
immediately drawn to the spiritual aspects of yoga; it felt true and authentic, a feeling that was reinforced as she gained a deeper understanding of yoga and how it relates to every day life.  Anna finds that the obstacles she finds on the mat bring wisdom, and that wisdom is something you carry off your mat and share with the rest of the world.

Yoga focuses on the breath (the most important “pose” of any practice) and also on fundamental yoga postures which increase energy, strength, flexibility, and balance. These practices have helped her realize a calm, relaxed, happy way of being, and it is her intention to share the same experience with her students.

Anna aspires to help students not just physically, but also experience a sense of inner peace on a spiritual and mental level. She believes yoga can be for anyone despite his or her age or fitness level and can be a life changing practice.

David Hennage

David began his yoga practice 10 years ago as an ashtanga student although his teacher training was in vinyasa. His practice and his teaching have evolved to include best of the discipline of ashtanga, and the sensitivity to the students and the artistry of vinyasa.

David’s teaching is grounded in a deep appreciation of the classical philosophy articulated by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras and his study of Buddhist meditation.

As someone who was began his practice later in life, David have real appreciation for beginning practitioners, but also realize how far someone at any age can advance in their practice with steady commitment and determination. For David, yoga truly is a way of life - a way of keeping fit, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Through teaching, he shares his experiences on the yoga path, both on and off the mat.

David recently returned from the Peace Corps to live, practice and teach in the Long Beach area.

Jenny Ahn

After leaving the country for 5 years and traveling around the world, Jenny's real journey began 2 and a half years ago after a trip to India.
"I became very sick and at one point injured my neck, leading to a number of other injuries..." This became a blessing in disguise shifting my awareness completely from the outside in to the inside out!
On one level forced to re-evaluate the way I was practicing yoga and coming back to my true intentions to Why I was practicing and How this was a reflection into my own life.

During this time I completed a 500 hour Teacher Training with YogaWorks, mentoring with Jeanne Heileman gaining a deeper understanding  into the subtle aspects of yoga and how mantra, meditation, ayurveda, pranayama, etc. can deepen ones practice to the connection of the inner Self.
Also influence from Iyengar focuses Jenny's classes on the importance for alignment and disclipine so that energy can flow freely and everyone is practicing safely.

Jenny believes that once we take responsibility for our selves and our bodies, this is the first step to healing and the road back to Whole-Oneness/ Optimal health, so that we can each come to fulfilling our fullest potential.

Michael Aragon

Michael began his formal studies of yoga in 1999 in Portland, Oregon.  From that moment, yoga in its multiple form became the undercurrent which has accompanied him through his subsequent career changes, artistic endeavors and international travels.

In 2004, Michael joined the World Evolution yoga school, which teaches five complete traditions over an extensive five year program- including hatha, kundalini, tibetan and taoist practices.  Here, he deepened his love and connection to physical yoga by studying the ancient roots and lineages that have carried these teachings to us today.  His teachers encouraged him to visit and receive directly from many of the living dharma masters in each tradition, which served to further reveal these teachings as living technology contributing toward the benefit of all.

Michael strives to make each class an experiential journey, weaving elements from his other trainings to enliven a given series of movements.  Gems from these modern physical systems bring a buoyancy and freshness to the practice.  Above all, Michael intends each class to be fun, where everyone can leave with something new to assist them on their adventure.
