AYURVEDA & WESTERN MEDICINE
Allopathic, or Western medicine, is great for treating disease. Ayurveda is for finding health. This subtle, yet important distinction is the reason why the two systems work so well together.
Time and time again, we have seen how ayurveda helps decrease recovery time, drug doses and side effects. The ayurvedic approach of addressing the root cause of disease—our lifestyles and our habits—is the strongest form of prevention.
The word allopathic has latin origin with the prefix allo, meaning other. Allopathic medicine was named as such because it uses elements other than those in nature to cure.
Dr. Mohan has trained in both allopathic and ayurvedic medicine and incorporates education on Western approaches to disease in her ayurvedic practice. Dr. Mohan is not practicing allopathic medicine at this time.
