Approach

We’ve designed this course for everyone looking for a deeper understanding of how to apply ayurveda in their own lives, and the class focus is on self analysis and care. We’ve also placed an emphasis on interactive learning and modern life context for this ancient body of wisdom and practices.

Credit

This course will be relevant for anyone wanting to learn more about ayurveda and is open to the general public as an LMU Extension course. It will also provide requisite hours and units for the Yoga Therapy Rx Program and the LMU Masters in Yoga Studies.

Instructors

Siva and Felicia are the core instructors for the course, and they will be joined by several incredible guest lecturers through out the 7 month curriculum.

Arun Deva will teach Ayurvedic Physiology.

Mallika Chopra will lead us in a Life Balance Wheel Exercise.

Martha Soffer will teach an overview of Pancha Karma.

Lorin Roche will lead us through the topics of Meditation and Visualization.

Kailas will introduce the various aspects of the subtle energetic body.

Eleni Tsikrikas will help unfold the topic of ayurveda and food.

We are also planning on a guest panel to explore the topic of ayurvedic practice, research and further study options with several ayurvedic program and clinic directors.

Our class immersion will be at LA’s premiere celebration of Vedic Wisdom, Veda Mela, where students will get exposure and inspiration on the many arms of the Vedic sciences and arts including mantra, yoga, jyotish, yantra, vaastu, and ayurveda.
